    Kendrick Lamar

Thanks to a slew of collaborations and live performances, plus the release of rarities collection untitled unmastered, it feels like Kendrick Lamar hasn’t stopped for breath since sharing To Pimp A Butterfly in March 2015. Regardless, Compton’s finest seems to set to unveil the full-length follow-up imminently, and has already whet our appetites with one of the best singles of 2017. Check out “HUMBLE” and get hyped.

    Lorde

Four years since Auckland’s Ella Yelich-O’Connor broke through with the pop perfection of Pure Heroine, the 20-year-old is poised to make one of the biggest comebacks of 2017. Reflecting on the final years of her teens, second LP Melodrama is due in June, and was trailed by "Green Light", a bonafide banger that showcases a dancier direction and production from Jack Antonoff. Sampha

If you don’t recognise Sampha’s striking voice from his solo work, you should from his previous collaborations with Beyoncé, Kanye, Drake, Frank Ocean and Solange. One thing’s certain: if you have heard it you won’t forget it. Supple and soulful, without ever seeming overwrought, it imbues the London-based producer’s superb debut set with genuine emotion. Mark our words: he’s a future festival headliner in the making.
