7digital What we said: N.E.R.D. announced their first album in seven years by dropping "Lemon". The track’s glitchy rhythm was a reminder of what Pharrell's band excels at, the guest rap from Rihanna was glorious, and that this was set to be a political record felt vital. At times NO ONE EVER REALLY DIES soars with all the giddy, hook-laden vivacity of previous albums like Fly Or Die, flitting between funky, jaunty bass and shouty vocals that sit neatly between rock and hip hop. The number of features can become a bit tiring (no matter how much we love Kendrick and André 3000), and the politics can be a little uninspired — overall, though, if you’re a fan of the Neptunes this is a worthy addition to their catalogue.
