7digital What we said: If, five years ago, we had told you that this rising folkie would become a poster boy for post-genre pop, you’d probably have laughed in our faces. Nevertheless, following 2014’s R&B-flavored Post Tropical, this is precisely what has come to pass, leading to collaborations with Drake, plus Kanye and Rihanna’s producers for this follow-up. Like its predecessor, We Move is loosely centred around soulful pop that borrows from hip hop, R&B and electronica, but this time it is complemented by a newfound lyrical candidness that lays bare the Dublin-born singer-songwriter's struggles with anxiety and depression. As McMorrow himself explains, he aims to dispel the myth “that I’m out in the forest all day long, thinking about trees. Because I’m actually at home, trying to convince myself to go out and get milk.”
