Modwheelmood is the partnership of front man, Alessandro Cortini and guitarist, Pelle Hillström Their sound is best described as alternative pop electronica, yet a refreshing departure from the typical laptop based bands. Modwheelmood is the product of impeccable composition, incorporating Hillström's raw, riffing guitars and sometimes sparkling, ambient guitars - depending on the mood - with Cortini's carefully structured analog synths and loops. The experienced duo exercises restraint, never allowing the guitars to overpower the synths, and offering provocative vocal melodies that add just enough depth to create well rounded, richly textured arrangements. Cortini and Hillström began collaborating when they meet in 2000. Cortini's affinity for synthesis combined with Hillström’s fascination with guitar made textures and loops serves as the foundation for this successful partnership.
