One of the first bands on the legendary British label Factory, A Certain Ratio was perhaps the first punk-funk band in history. Following an early-1980s tour of the States with fellow Mancunians New Order, the groundbreaking act started incorporating Nuyorican soul styles, Latin rhythms, and club sounds into its agitated take on dance music. ACR continued to record and tour into the '90s, and its sound has had an unmistakable impact on the early-21st-century dance-punk movement.
